Community Church Planting

NORTHERN GHANA

It is estimated that more than 70% of the Northern population live in the disadvantaged rural communities. This area has the highest population of poverty in the country of Ghana. Beyond this, Northern Ghana is said to lack critical health outcomes exhibiting high levels of under 5 malnourishment, severe anemic children mortality, lower proportion of fully vaccinated children, lower coverage of basic health services, and limited access to improved water sources. Widespread open defecation remain a critical challenge in many rural communities in Northern Ghana.

Northern Ghana is the least reached area within the country. About 65% of the population, recorded as not knowing Jesus. Only 4% of churches, 3% of Christian fulltime workers and less than 2% of church finance serve Northern Ghana.

The Sahel is the semiarid geaographical region located in the north central Africa between the sahara desert and the Savannah lands. Countries located within the sahel region includes Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Burkinafaso, which is just above Northern Ghana, Niger, Nigeria, Chad, Sudan, Eritrea and some part of Algeria.

The sahel has about 64.5% of it’s population below the age of 25 years. The sahel is one of the world’s most youthful regions. This area is home to over 135,000,000 inhabitants and about 65% of the sahel population is rural.

Today the sahel is overwhelmly unreached. Most of the countries in the sahel is estimated to have over 90% of their population unreached. Which includes Mali, Mauritania, Niger, senegal. Countries like Burkina Faso and Chad are majority unreached countries.

Northern Ghana however can be the gateway of the gospel to the Sahel region.

Northern Ghana can become the gateway of the gospel to the Sahel; with similar culture, tribe, climate etc. The work of missions in Northern Ghana can become a blueprint for the Sahel.

Love Heralds International believes that the gospel is the key to the wholistic transformation of a person or community.

It is the vision of Love Heralds International to see Northern Ghana transformed with the gospel and become a door way in sending the gospel to the sahel. One village and community at a time.

Having sent hundreds of short term and long term missionaries to the 5 regions in Northern Ghana over the years. Worked in more than 50 northern communities since 2010, seen many lives transformed and testimonies.

Our vision is through our community discipleship project. to see every community in Northern Ghana discipled. It is our goal through community discipleship, every community that do not have a church will have a church and every community church will have a church building. We believe through our community discipleship project; the religious demography of Northern Ghana can change, leading to a holistic transformation of communities.

We are determined to partner with various local stakeholders, christian bodies within the various regions in seing this come to pass.

BUILDING 50 COMMUNITY CHURCHES IN 50 COMMUNITIES OVER THE NEXT 5 YEARS

Every year we intend to plant and construct 2 to 3 community churches and church buildings in communities with little or no church presence.

As many are coming to Christ from from other faiths, these churches and buildings will be a symbol of their new found faith and a tool for growth and maturity in Christ.

The task of missions cannot be completed if new believers are not disciple. As we partner with local leaders, other churches and organizations to see the work done in these communities. We invite you to stand with us in the sacrifice of prayer and giving to send the gospel.

Give the best gift you can give to transform families and communities with the love of Jesus Christ. Let’s give to send the gospel.

It is time for us to look beyond ourselves. It is time for us to partner together with Love Heralds International to reach out Northern Ghana and the sahel as a whole. this is the time for us not to be silent but to see the need and to respond to the need.
